Happy Early Birthday JJ! (Traditions of March #3)

How you feeling? Older, wrinklier or wiser? No? Just 16 yrs? Not different? Good stuff.

So I hear you are going to have a great day tomorrow. Are you upset I posted early? I just wanted to send you to bed hungry

JJ, I just want to say to HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

How else to celebrate?

Out of the 4 years I have now known you (a lifetime right?) we have gone through so much together *sniff* – netball tryouts at school, dancing, parties, formal, even ‘sleepovers’ where you look like me to certain people (:P) and our shunning because of loving pineapple lumps!

You make life so positive and upbeat dude – I am not kidding, with your older-sister attitude
Though let me clarify, you are so totally younger than me

But you are always there for not just me, everyone, and we appreciate and love you for that

Happy Happy Birthday JJ – I hope know you will turn 16 with style like only you can

Dear Readers-Who-Are-Not-JJ

Do you remember JJ? I mentioned her just a couple of days gone past as well as last year on her birthday last year
I think you know her as my Modern History buddy and one of my best friends and a daughter to the lady who’s date cake is to kill for. Yeah, I am not joking, I am honoured to taste it

She is (as above) one the sweetest and most wonderful people I know so as tradition dictates of March, I bake for her birthday
Of course, unlike my brother or daddy, she is like me – a chocolate loving, appreciates-the-good-things-in-life girl! Told you she was awesome

Anyway, going through my various bookmarks, wondering what to make, what to make and then I found this recipe.

NUTELLA CHEESECAKE BROWNIE BITES

Did you just melt a little? I certainly did therefore I knew JJ would therefore I knew this recipe was the one

And I think the pictures are forcing you to agree with me

My last post was chocolate-less. And it got out my inner Gollum. But baking this has more than soothed the demons within me.

There is *ahem*:

• Nutella in the brownie
• Nutella in the cheesecake
• ·        Nutella in my mouth

Best part? I increased it in the recipe for both parts. This really is a Nutella bomb. A ‘party in my mouth’, quoting a friend. No. A ‘Nutella party in my mouth’

Notice how I am saying my mouth? Well, when this dessert was made, I had to trim the edges to make sure it looked neat. And I know some people do not like crusts but guess what – this dish had no crusts. It was sweet, moist and delicious all round.

What is a girl to do with leftovers? Eat them all Share with family of course (moans with pain!)

So that is how you can see the fudgy photos. You like the fudgy photos? Keep looking there are more

Anyway, I overall made this dish just a bit more rich and have some tips if you want to are demanded to make this dish at home
Because JJ deserves the richest, the best and most decadent things the world (or just I) have to offer

• In the brownies I used 1/2 cup Nutella opposed to 1/4 cup
• I used 1/4 cup + 2 tbs cocoa powder for extra chocolate-y goodness in the brownies
• I used half brown and half caster sugar in the brownies
• I added 3 tbs thickened cream in the cheesecake
• I increased the Nutella to 1/2 cup in the cheesecake
• I increased the cream cheese amount to 250g and the sugar to 1/4 cup just because we don’t have 230g packets in Aus

I used store bought fudge writing to do the very homemade writing (I am working on it give me time!) but you could easily whip up some chocolate ganache like this and drizzle it all over (I find it is too thick to write with)
